DASH-101
driving assistant
HALF SEMESTER PROJECT — FALL 2022
PROBLEM/END GOAL
Reduce the use of smartphones in older vehicles
Safer interaction than (reach and touch or looking down for navigation)
EXPLORATION SKETCHES
ROUGH CAD MODELS
DETAILED CONCEPT SKETCHES
In the research phase, it was discovered that the wireless interface/interaction was much more safe compared to reaching over and interacting while driving a car. The touchpad was also discovered to be more intuitive in comparison to a circular dial.
DETAILED CAD CONCEPTS
ROUGH 3D MoDELS
The rough models were made of foam to figure out the correct dimensions for a compact design.
FINAL CAD MODEL
FINAL 3D MODEL
MAIN POINTS
Driver Oriented
Familiar Interaction
Easily Reachable
Compact
